How to Pray for Israel in 2023

Mark 9:23 All things are possible to those who believes!”

Through her writings and sermons, I have been mentored in prayer by Lynne Hammond, who was mentored by Brother Phil Halverson. I was sent to her and her husband Mac’s church in 1999, and have been under their teachings and leadership ever since. In fact, I have every one of their available recorded sermons and their books in my home library and have been through them all. Below is my bookcase of the Hammond’s and Brother Kenneth E Hagin’s sermons and books. This is Lynne Hammond sharing prayer points through the CUFI prayer arm for Israel in 2023.

As you continue faithfully praying BIG, BOLD PRAYERS for Israel and the Jewish people, remember “All things are possible to him who believes!” Mark 9:23. Christians United for Israel (CUFI) just completed our 18th Annual Washington Summit. It was filled with inspiring speakers, wonderful moments of reconnecting with CUFI friends, and a record number of congressional appointments for CUFI members to show their support for Israel in the halls of Congress.

One of the talking points presented to our members of Congress is the CHAI – Countering Hate against Israel – act. It simply says that if you are going to do business with the federal government, you cannot participate in any boycott, divestment or sanction of Israel during the duration of your contract. This is a CUFI initiative and Representative Claudia Tenney of New York submitted the bill. Since then several other members of the House of Representatives have become co-sponsors. This is a very important piece of legislation.

PRAYER POINTS FOR CUFI

  1. Pray the CHAI bill will PASS both the House and Senate in good time and the President will sign it into law.
  2. Pray God will give CUFI new strategies to DEFEAT antisemitism.
  3. Pray CUFI will have a RECORD number of events in 2023.
  4. Pray CUFI will have a greater platform of influence at EVERY level in our country.

Several speakers at the Summit strongly addressed antisemitism. Here are a few of Pastor Hagee’s sobering statements on antisemitism: “If we do not confront and defeat, antisemitism in this country, it will poison the future of this country…Antisemitism is sin, and sin damns the soul…America may not be here forever, but God’s love for the Jewish people is forever…Let’s crank up our courage, confront antisemitism, and change the course of human history!” Here is a profound statement by Malcom Hoenlein: “About 20 years ago antisemitism began to rise, God’s antidote was CUFI.”

PRAYER POINTS ON ANTISEMITISM – Genesis 12:3, Psalm 109:1-3

  1. Pray for courage to stand up and speak against antisemitism everywhere you hear or see it!
  2. Pray against antisemitism in the leadership of America’s businesses. Deuteronomy 28:7
  3. Pray against antisemitism on the college campus near you.

Another topic at the Summit was Iran and Iran-funded Hezbollah. Here are a few statements by IDF Lt. Colonel Conricus (ret): “Israel faces two threats – Hezbollah and Iran…War could start by Hezbollah attacking Israel or Israel striking Iran’s nuclear sites…Hezbollah is a terror army/organization that has a very large footprint in Lebanon. It also has 130,000 rockets…50-60% of Hezbollah’s arsenal could hit 4 million Israelis…it is the only non-state actor who has precision guided missiles.”

Concerning Iran and Hezbollah, here is a statement by Israel’s Defense Minister: “We (Israelis) all carry a prayer for when we find on the other side of the border a hand extended for peace and a life of good neighborliness. Until we have days like this, the IDF maintains a high level of readiness and competence, and will continue to act against Iran and Hezbollah’s attempts to strengthen their position in the northern region. As I said, our hands are extended to peace, but if we need to defend against our enemy, our sword is in our hands.”

PRAYER POINTS FOR ISRAEL SECURITY AND IDF

  1. Pray for Iranian money that funds Hezbollah to be cut off. Jeremiah 17:11 “… he who gets riches but not by justice; in the midst of his days they will leave him…”
  2. Pray for Divine interference to hinder Hezbollah’s efforts to recruit and indoctrinate new members. Deuteronomy 28:7
  3. Pray for the officers and commanders of the IDF to be men and women of great courage and integrity.
  4. Pray for all of Israel’s intelligence agencies to have eyes to see and ears to hear what the enemy is plotting. II Kings 6:8-12.

August 18 begins the twelfth Hebrew month of Elul. This is the month that precedes the Jewish High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. Elul is a month for self-introspection, repentance, and reconciliation preparing for the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. In addition to saying Selichot, special prayers asking God’s forgiveness, Psalm 27 is read each day of Elul. Many sense the month of Elul will be a significant time when God will be dealing with those who oppose His plan for Israel.

PRAYER POINTS FOR ELUL

  1. Pray for revelation and conviction of the Holy Spirit on Christians in the United States concerning antisemitism. John 16:8
  2. Pray for our leaders in Washington to understand the importance of the contribution of the Jewish people to our country and the world. Lead them to repent for any anti-Israel, antisemitic comments or actions they have been involved in.
  3. Pray for your spiritual eyes and ears to be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit as you pray for Israel.

Thank you for your continued support in prayer for Israel. I am praying that the blessings of heaven meet your every need. “And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 AMP

Love and blessings,
