Saturday, October 7, 2023 is now a day that lives in infamy for the nation of Israel as well as across the world. What is the significance of what happened on that day? The labor pains are intense and Bible prophecy is happening right before our very eyes. This is a strategic inflection point, what is happening in the world today is like Bible prophecy on steroids. The United Nations security council recently passed Resolution 2728 for a cease fire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, and an immediate release of hostages from Hamas. It is not expected to have much of an impact on the fighting. As a note, China and Russia vetoed that resolution. The language in this resolution does not allow it to be enforced, and it does not condemn Hamas in any way, shape, or form. The United States always supports Israel at the United Nations but, in effect, withdrew our support when it abstained from voting on this resolution. This is the most strained our relations with Israel have been since 1948!
Many Bible prophecy scholars believe that at the end of this age the United Nations will align and join forces against Israel. In fact, the UN will be part of the setup to take Jerusalem from the state of Israel. Also, Iran continues to be a player against Israel. It continues to try to smuggle weapons into the West Bank and is behind the axis of resistance, where militant groups within Hamas, Lebanon, Syria, and Hezbollah all are against Israel. Iran also is a big seller of arms to the Russian Federation. Many believe Iran is stirring all this up against Israel as a distraction so they can build out weapons of mass destruction. Iran is basically a middle east arms dealer and one day soon Israel will have to deal with this nation. Some believe Iran already has a nuclear weapon, or they are on the verge of it. Nobody knows where Iran’s research and development is at because they will not allow international investigators in to understand where they are in the process. Since they do not let these investigators in, I think we can deduce they are close to having what they want and do not want to disclose this information. Iran hates Israel with a passion, and this is all orchestrated!
What is coming now? Many Bible scholars believe the 3rd temple is about to be built. But in order for there to be a 3rd Temple, there must first be a cleansing that takes place on the Mount of Olives (Numbers 19). In the Jewish Talmud, it seems to signify when the 10th red heifer is sacrificed the Messiah enters the scene! A recent segment by CBS Saturday Morning, of all places, stated that in September 2022, five Texan Red Angus, or red heifers were moved from Glen Rose, Texas to the West Bank in Israel. Hamas were outraged about this, and some believe one could be sacrificed on Passover, April 22, 2024. There have only been 9 red heifers in Israel’s history since Moses, so this sacrifice would be the 10th. Hamas has been openly angry about this movement of red cows, in fact, a Hamas leader referenced this in January when he spoke about the 100th day of war with Israel. Some believe it was one of the major reasons of the terrorists invading Israel. Hamas even recognizes that these red heifers are a sign of the end of their Temple and the coming of the 3rd Jewish Temple.
Israel is in a pressure cooker; these nations encircle them and have the Jewish state cornered. Now, since 1948 the world population, has been looking and watching for someone to bring peace to Jerusalem and its state of Israel. But nothing has worked, including the Abraham accords! At some point in time after the rapture of the Church, there will be someone who comes on the seen who seems to bring peace but will end up double crossing Israel. This figure will come on the world stage as a peace maker but will not bring peace. The Bible calls him the Antichrist. Now, we as Christians should pray for the Peace of Jerusalem knowing that Bible prophecy will continue on its path. Remember John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Maranatha!!
