Jeremiah 16:15 The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them. For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.
On May 14, 1948, the modern state of Israel was born in a day! Time and again the prophets of old had prophesied that the Jewish people would return to Israel, it is now happening. The promises that were made to Israel were not just made to Jacob, but to the descendants of Jacob, or all of Israel. Against all odds, the nation of Israel has returned to their homeland and prospered beautifully!
God not only chose the nation of Israel, He also chose the specific piece of real estate that would become their national boundaries and land. Is the rebirth of Bible prophecy important to Bible prophecy? Yes, absolutely it is. Israel is the apple of God’s eye! Israel must be an established nation for all prophecies to be fulfilled in the last days. It may be the most important sign of the end of days. Israel is the stage for the end of time of the Gentiles, which will conclude with the rapture of the Church and then opens the door for the 70th week of Daniel to be fulfilled. Israel is truly God’s timeclock. Always watch the happenings in Israel, it is the plan of God unfolding on the Earth!
Islam: The Crises of Western Civilization
Traditionally, Israel has been supported by the United States, but in recent years the narrative has shifted. Don’t be fooled by this present-day mockery! During the first Great Awakening (1730 – 1760) in America, the time our Founding Fathers were in their youth they were taught that Islam did not align to the Western Civilization. A great theologian during that time was Jonathan Edwards. In 1773, he penned the book History of Redemption. Edwards predicted that a great revival would come to America in the twenty-first century, and part of this revival would spell the end of the deception of Islam.
God oversees the Land
Israel had time and time again been protected by God over the past 75 years! On the same day Israel declared its sovereignty as a nation, it was invaded by Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Jordan. Israel had a population of 650,000, with an army of 60,000 – and only 18,900 were fully outfitted soldiers. BUT the State of Israel prevailed! 19 years later in 1967, Israel defeated five armies in the Six-Day War and won control of several new territories. AND a reminder, the current State of Israel is not even close to the land which was promised to Abraham by God! And over the past 75 years, Israel has continued to defend itself against those who do not recognize anything about Israel, much less statehood.
Jerusalem will be His
For the past centuries there has been a battle for the city of David, the great city of Jerusalem. Between 1948 and 1967, the time of the Six Day War, Israel allowed the custodianship of the Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem to the Islamic Wakf. It has become extremely abusive, and Jews were denied access to their Holy Sites, such as the Western Wall and the Holy Mount. Christian Churches were also prohibited from buying property and Christian organizations could not own property near Holy Sites in Jerusalem. Muslims consider Mecca much more holy than they do Jerusalem, and Jews hold Jerusalem as their most holy city.
Should Jerusalem belong to the Jewish people? The Jewish people currently possess a portion of “The Land” promised to Abraham and his descendants in Genesis 15 and have an ancient claim to this land. This is rooted in history and justified by international laws and values. Further, according to Jay Sekulow (2018), in his book Jerusalem: A Biblical and Historical Case for the Jewish Capital there is clear archeological evidence that the ancient Jewish people group resided in and around Holy Land from the time of Abraham through the first century A.D. Jerusalem was considered the capital of Israel by the Knesset in 1980. The law initiated protests around the world, yet international law has no bearing on Israel law. Israel is the only country on Earth where their chosen capital is not recognized by many groups and nations around the world. President Trump moved the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in 2017, which made a U.S. declaration that Americans view the Israel capital as Jerusalem.
The Myth of Replacement Theology
Has the Church replaced Israel with God, sometimes called Replacement Theology? Much of the “Church,” and therefore America, has rejected Israel as nothing more than a middle eastern nation, at best. The British Anglican Church, Presbyterians, Methodists and others seemed to reach out more and more to the Middle Eastern countries who opposed Israel simply because they cried alligator tears in the 1970s and 1980s. Replacement theology lies deep in Islam. This theology believes the New Testament and Christianity completely replaced the Old Covenant agreement with Abraham and the promise of the Land. Replacement theology simply is a doctrine which holds that Israel no longer has a part in God’s divine plan for the remainder of time, and this is simply not true because God agreed to an everlasting covenant with Abraham in Genesis 17.
In part 3 of Israel at 75, you will hear about Israel’s health and growth today, going from a start-up nation to a thriving nation on this blue marble people planet! Stay tuned. . .
